How does self-storage work?

Choose your unit size. If you are unsure on the size you require, don’t hesitate to contact us and our experienced staff will be happy to advise.

Reserve your unit ready for the day you move in. No payment will be taken until the date that you choose to move in on.

Move into your unit. On the day of your move in or beforehand we can get the payment all set up. This can be done in person or over the phone.

Where are you based?

We are based in Fenton, Stoke On Trent. Our full address is Move My Stuff Self Storage, Victoria Road, ST4 2HS. We are right opposite the McDonald’s, you can’t miss us!

What are your opening hours? 

Our opening hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday. 10:00am – 3:00pm on Saturday. We can arrange out of ours access if needed, you would just be required to book an appointment with notice given for us to arrange this.

How do I access my belongings? 

If you are looking at access your items within our normal opening hours, just pop into our reception area and we will open the roller shutter door. We have customer car parking spaces right outside. 

If you require out of hours access, you would just need to book an appointment in advance of attending.

Do you provide help with moving into storage? 

Yes! For our local customers we offer a free* move into our self-storage with our professional in-house removal team. For customers further afield we can offer great discounts to help move your items. Payment for a removal service is due on the day with no deposit required!

Is a deposit required?

No. There is no deposit needed! Payment is due on the day you move into our facility. You can reserve a unit for free of charge!

How do I pay for self-storage?

On the day of the move into storage or beforehand we would set up a direct debit. This would start on the day you move into storage. This can be done over the phone or in person, whatever is easiest for you. 

Do I need insurance?

Yes, we have a variety of different options, just choose what suits you best! Our minimum insurance cover is £2,000 per unit. This ranges right up to £15,000+!

Can I bring my own padlock?

Yes, you can. Alternatively, you can buy one from our reception if you don’t have one. Check out our box shop!

How secure will my items be?

We take security very seriously. We have 24 hr CCTV coverage, and a monitored alarm system. Your belongings are safe in our hands.

What other services do you offer?

We offer a professional removal service, a selection of packing services, packing materials supply (collection only), a cleaning service and assortment of property maintenance services!

How much notice do I need to give to vacate my storage unit?

No notice is needed. Just let us know when you would like to vacate the unit.

How long are you quotes valid for?

Our quotes are valid for 4 weeks, this includes any offers made at the time of receiving the quote.

Is there a minimum stay?

Our minimum stay is one week. 

Are there items I can’t store?

We can’t store any of the following items:

Any items that are flammable or contain fuel of any kind. 
Potted plants or organic items
Food items
